A Song On Sunday (9)

Saturday, 5 May 2012

Beka, whom you all MUST know by now, asked to do my Song On Sunday post because she found the perfect song. And I much happily obliged. Don't worry I haven't gone AWOL again! Enjoy.

Hiya everyone! Tis me (Beka). Well seeing as Emily hasn't got round to posting her own SoS I'll go first. I have been ridiculously over-excited since Thursday evening when and descovered this song... then inspiration hit! (and inspiration never hits) for the first time I have a book to go with my song YAY :D So without further ado (is that how you write it?) my Song on Sunday for this week is:

'Lonely' by Christina Perri

As I said I discovered this song on Thursday when looking up Christina Perri songs... and I have been singing it several times a day since XD This song I have matched with 'Shatter Me' by Tahereh Mafi. I think this song is perfect for Juliette while she is living in her cell... so sad :'( Anyway I'll let you listen and get back to me: Do you agree? Do you have a better book to match this song? or even do you have a better song for Juliette?

P.S. I advise you to skip the first 30secs as it only consists of very irritating type-writer sounds >:(

WWW Wednesday!

Wednesday, 2 May 2012

WWW Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted at the awesome blog  Should Be Reading.

To play along, just answer the following three questions…
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What am I currently reading?
I am currently reading 'The Lucky One' by Nicolas Sparks. After I saw the trailer at the cinema (if your wondering I went to see 'The Hunger Games'... for the second time), despite my dislike for Zac Efron I found myself hooked and completely determined to see it and while I wait for it to be released, why not read it? The first chapter in this book kinda threw me as I knew the bare outline of the story and I was wondering if I'd got the right book but by the second chapter I was most definately caught; I have barely put it down since starting it though sadly I have had to put it on hold for the moment as it was an ibook on my Ipod Touch which I had to send off to get the screen fixed... after I dropped it :'( but I'm hoping to get back to reading it very soon!

What did I recently finish reading?
I recently finished reading the third book in the 'Night Huntress' series. I absalutely LOVE this series after Emily got me hooked on them by somehow convincing me to give the first a try. After finishing the first I got the second, then after the second I got the third and now I've finished the third I can't wait to get my hands on the fourth!! These books are never slow and most definately never boring or lacking in imagination but hey if you want more info go read Emily's review!!! :)

What do I think I will read next?
Hmmm... well as far as I know Emily has promised me at least two books Emily that I can read once she's finished with them and I was giving a book a few days ago by a family friend who had read it and thought I might enjoy it. 'Wonder' by R.J. Palacio follows the story of a young boy named Augie (short for August) who was born with a terrible facial abnormality. Not my normal pick but I'm looking forward to reading it. :)

Musing Monday (7)

Monday, 30 April 2012

Hi guys! It's Monday... not the day that brings the best out in me (to say the least) but at least I get to have my first go at 'Musing Monday'.

So the question for today is: Do you listen to audiobooks? If not, why not? And, if so, what has been one of your favourite, so far?

My Answer: Well this question was obviously made for me! I LOVE AUDIOBOOKS!! <3 Sadly it's been quite a while since I've listened to one although I can remember when I was little I'd go to the library and take out an audiobook.. then spend the next three weeks listening to it over and over... never once did I get bored of it. Unlike some of the people who have also answered this question I've never had a problem with the whole 'zoning out' thing and my favourite time to listen to them is when I go to sleep (weird huh?).

My favourite audiobook? Well my the first one that comes to mind is 'The Princess Diaries' from when I was about 9 years old, I loved the fact that Anne Hathaway even did all the voices, but thinking of all the audiobooks I would say 'Lola Rose' by Jacqueline Wilson was my all time favourite. Now I'm not a particular fan of Jacqueline Wilson as I think that all her books are depressing (would it kill her to write an actual happy book?) but this book for some reason completely grabbed me! I recall I renewed that audiobook at least twice before my mother forced me to return it, so I went and bought the book and read that instead... now I'm thinking that I totally have to start listening to audiobooks again!

So whats your answer? Share your link with me or tell me in the comments if you don't have a blog.
