The WW2 story from Shades of Grey was one of my favourites, so I've been looking forward to seeing what he's done this time. The subject matter is heart breaking, and I usually avoid books or movies if I know in advance a box of tissues is required. Then again, I do love good writing, and sometimes a good cry is good for everyone. I wish Michael all the best - the cover is excellent!Yolanda Renéehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09085436784133103221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8286698588299607131.post-83461237713997053242015-03-29T19:18:22.507+01:002015-03-29T19:18:22.507+01:00If Borys was made up on the spot then I am very im...If Borys was made up on the spot then I am very impressed!
I've read other reviews that were more negative towards the ending but I didn't mind it. I saw how it could have gone either way and I think both could have been satisfying.
And you did a good job with the cover, it is minimalist but effective.Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02509891266988043903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8286698588299607131.post-12920013970203831332015-03-29T19:15:19.972+01:002015-03-29T19:15:19.972+01:00Strong feelings will definitely be triggered in th...Strong feelings will definitely be triggered in this one, I warn you! Oddly enough he literally didn't exist in my head until the point he appears in the story - he only came about because I needed someone to accompany Alenka to the meeting, and all his attributes were generated on the fly.

The ending has certainly split opinion, and it reflects how emotionally attached I become to the characters. If I could go back in time I would consider leaving that final chapter out.

I'm glad you liked the cover as well. I spent a fair amount of time looking for the right image and that one pretty much leapt out at me when I saw it.Michael Cargillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17387931000326098460noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8286698588299607131.post-91010292179191260872015-03-28T00:58:52.071+00:002015-03-28T00:58:52.071+00:00I'll definitely add this to my TBR pile. (I would worry about myself if I could read it without strong feelings).Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01368467146767649418noreply@blogger.com
